My favorite Thanksgiving memory was from a few years ago when I hosted a big dinner & had 1 table with all food so everyone could self-serve then bring plate to patio dining area or living room or wherever they wanted. I grabbed my camera and got the biggest joy when all the adults & children alike were circling with their plates around & around the table & moving like a wagon train circling the table to fill their plates. It was fun & fulfilling & I am thankful I was able to prepare such a Blessed event!

  7. Anna Moore says:

One of my favorite memories was cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my mom after she had just gotten home from the hospital. She said the “food tasted so good, just like hers”. There is no greater compliment than that. It was one of the last Thanksgivings before she passed away, but I will always remember her saying that with a satisfied look on her face. I am very thankful that she taught me how to cook.

I already wash some of the listed items in the dishwasher, but it also gave me additional ideas of things I can wash in the dishwasher, for example, my toothbrush and toothbrush holder. Great tips!

The article about 5 Thanksgiving mistakes is a good reminder of what to do and not do for Thanksgiving dinner.

I have an old, old stove vent. I really like it and it needed knobs to turn on the light and the exhaust fan. Found a set at Repair Clinic and they work perfectly. Thank you so much!

At 90 years young,I have celebrated quite a few Thanksgivings and enjoyed them all while our family was together. Now our 4 daughters are on their own and scattered around so we don’t get together much anymore .I am very thankful for all the years we were able to do so.
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving Day and may all have many more of them together with your families.

Thanksgiving is a great day for family & friends to get together & the good food is a bonus to caring & sharing with others. It is one of my favorite holidays. We all share memories of previous years & remember those that have passed away & those who could not make it each year. Giving thanks for many things through the years. Hope all of the families and friends have a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday.!!

  16. Tommy says:

Thanksgiving and Christmas are still the two days all of our original family members still get together now with our extended families. Our tradition at dinner is to make a circle, and each of us tell what we have been thankful for this year. We also take a few minutes to mention and remember those of our family that are no longer with us on this side. Then we give our thanks to God for more his guidance, the meal and all our blessings. then we eat, and then… Football! Lol! The night ends with family games of old at the dinner table once the dishes are cleared. I hope you guys can add some of these things to your celebration this year.

    • Jody Lamb says:

Hi Tommy, those are great traditions! Thank you so much for sharing about them! It’s extremely important to pause and give thanks ever day, but especially on Thanksgiving! Enjoy the traditions this year!

  17. Debbie Welchert says:

My favorite memory is spending Thanksgiving at my parents house with lots of food, fun and talking.

  18. Debbie Welchert says:

Thanks for the do not freeze or refrigerate coffee tip. I always did that not knowing I was hurting it instead of keeping it fresh. No more putting coffee in the freezer for me.

    • Jody Lamb says:

Glad you enjoyed the coffee tips! That was news to many of us here, too. Josh Hull is our resident coffee expert so we’re lucky to learn of coffee-related tips often!
