3® staffers give back to community with Christmas in Action volunteerism® staffers fix up home of disabled woman in the community

Canton, Mich.—Staff members of®, the trusted online store for replacement parts for home appliances, outdoor power equipment and HVAC equipment, spent last Saturday fixing the home of a disabled community member in need of help.

The work was part the community’s annual Christmas in Action event, which gathers hundreds of volunteers to provide free home repairs for seniors and disabled residents in the community.

Christmas in Action organizers assigned RepairClinic’s group to the home of a disabled woman and her brother/caregiver. RepairClinic staff members climbed into the home’s attic and installed insulation, removed and cleaned bricks in preparation for scheduled masonry work and did yardcare.

“Every day, at RepairClinic, we empower people to fix things on their own,” said volunteer and RepairClinic staffer Samantha Zeisler of Ypsilanti. “But it’s even more rewarding to get out into our community and help people who aren’t able to complete do-it-yourself projects or who cannot afford to hire professionals. Christmas in Action is a great way for us to give back to the community that has supported us since the beginning.”

Your volunteerism is inspiring! I’m very happy to see you support such initiatives for your employees to participate in. I assist a local Christian food co-op in their efforts to supply food and some financial assistance to folks who are going through difficult times. We are considering expanding our efforts to include a financial education type of program for some of our clients. While it is only in the development stage, I can see RepairClinic being a part of a good financial education program. Thanks for all you do!

If only all companies would give back as you are, our planet would be better off for it!
