RepairClinic.com® staffers fix up home of disabled woman in the community

The work was part the community’s annual Christmas in Action event, which gathers hundreds of volunteers to provide free home repairs for seniors and disabled residents in the community.
Christmas in Action organizers assigned RepairClinic’s group to the home of a disabled woman and her brother/caregiver. RepairClinic staff members climbed into the home’s attic and installed insulation, removed and cleaned bricks in preparation for scheduled masonry work and did yardcare.
“Every day, at RepairClinic, we empower people to fix things on their own,” said volunteer and RepairClinic staffer Samantha Zeisler of Ypsilanti. “But it’s even more rewarding to get out into our community and help people who aren’t able to complete do-it-yourself projects or who cannot afford to hire professionals. Christmas in Action is a great way for us to give back to the community that has supported us since the beginning.”

Every year, RepairClinic Outreach supports several non-profit organizations through volunteerism and fundraising. Earlier this month, dozens of RepairClinic employees dug holes for and planted 70 trees in Detroit to help The Greening of Detroit™ organization in its plans to plant thousands of trees in the city this summer.
Currently, the group is fundraising for its Relay for Life® team to benefit the American Cancer Society®.
